Our client, a privately owned company based in Bern, is a supplier to the automotive industry within a globally operating group of companies. It develops and produces complex plastic gears and gearboxes for applications in modern mobility. The company is one of the world’s innovation leaders in this sector and enjoys an excellent reputation. Thanks to production sites on three continents, it optimally serves globally active customers. At its headquarters, standards are defined within a matrix organisation, and are implemented at its five production sites to achieve specified goals. Within the context of a succession plan, we are looking for a communicative personality as aDirector Global Supply Chain Management
In this position, you will report directly to the Group COO. You will network with the specialists at the global production sites, get to know the strengths of the external sites and focus the responsibilities of the various processes. Together with you, management will standardise processes, eliminate risks and increase transparency by means of key figure management. This within the dynamic market of the global automotive industry.Your tasks
- Implementation of the global strategy in supply chain management
- Establishing a common understanding of leadership within a matrix organisation
- Leading the change process in your area of expertise to achieve standardisation in SCM
- Definition of KPIs in contract management, sourcing, logistics and inventory management
- Risk management regarding suppliers, availability of materials and production sites
- Engineering degree with experience in the manufacturing industry
- Further education and leadership experience in supply chain management
- Understanding and strength in conceptual activity related to manufacturing sites
- Global management experience within a matrix organisation
- Strong communication skills, business-fluent in German and English
- Willingness to travel globally for approximately 30 percent of your work
